Scores and Post Game Reports
It was a back and forth game in the first half between the Kentucky Wildcats and the Auburn Tigers. The Wildcats couldn’t seem to hold on to the ball as they finished the half already with double-digit turnovers.
In the second half, UK came out strong to take a lead of 8 points, but then, AUB came back on a couple of threes and were right back into the game. After a steal and dunk by DeWayne Reed (Tigers), the basketball game was tied. The very next possession, Auburn was able to take the lead. The next couple of minutes, the game was back and forth.
Late in the game, Kentucky was finally able to get a little breathing room with help from star “Jodie Meeks” to finish off the game. What seemed to be a blowout in UK’s favor, turned out to be a very close game until the end when Kentucky edged Auburn with a final score of 73-64.
Jodie Meeks finished with 31 points.
Patrick Patterson was dominant on the boards finishing with 21 points, 18 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Perry Stevenson had a great game with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Kentucky finished with 22 turnovers and shot 52.5 percent from the field.
The Wildcats gain sole possession of first place in the SEC and are the only undefeated team left in the Southeastern Conference as Mississippi St. and Florida both had losses tonight.
