It is being reported by Rivals.com that DeMarcus Cousins has verbally committed to come and play for Coach Calipari at Kentucky. This is the second 5-star recruit of the 2009 recruits currently committed to the Kentucky Wildcatins, including Daniel Orton.
DeMarcus Cousins is a 6 ft 9 in., 250 pound power forward from Mobile, Alabama. DeMarcus Cousins is ranked #2 in the nation for the 2009 recruits by Rivals.com. ESPN has him as ranked #4 in the nation, so either way, it is a good sign for the Kentucky Wildcats and Coach Calipari. The 2009-2010 basketball season for the Wildcats is looking up, depending on Meeks and Patterson’s decision to stay or go.
The only downfall if Patrick Patterson stays and DeMarcus Cousins does come, is playing time, since both are power forwards. I believe both could still get good minutes by switching off at power forward and center to include Daniel Orton, but it wouldn’t leave much time for Perry Stevenson. Either way, things are looking better and hopefully John Wall will soon make a decision on where he is going to play.
